In short:
- Wrist under 145 mm: S–M.
- Over 200 mm: L–XL.
- Between 145 and 200 mm: Both fit according to Garmin. See below for how to decide.
How to measure your wrist
Wrap a tape measure or a strip of paper around your wrist where you want to wear the Cirqa and read the circumference in millimetres. According to Garmin’s manual, the band should sit “snugly above the wrist”: slightly tight but comfortable. Garmin says the module belongs on the outside of the arm; if you find it more comfortable, you can turn it closer to the inside.
In the overlap range: S–M or L–XL?
Between 145 and 200 mm, Garmin covers your wrist with both sizes and gives no recommendation for this range. A simple, purely arithmetical rule of thumb: the midpoint of the S–M range is 160 mm, that of L–XL is 192.5 mm. If your circumference is below about 176 mm, you are closer to the middle of S–M; above that, closer to L–XL.
Two points from Garmin’s manual and the reviews:
- The band uses a hook-and-loop fastener. According to the manual, people with a larger circumference close it nearer to the retaining bar. How much band is left over therefore depends on the size.
- Only one band is in the box, reports Computer Bild. You commit to a size at purchase. According to Garmin, bands are swappable via quick-release pins (14 mm pins, 24 mm wide band).
Upper arm instead of wrist
Garmin sells a dedicated upper arm band for €59.99 for the Cirqa, also in two sizes:
| S–M | L–XL | |
|---|---|---|
| Upper arm circumference per Garmin | 200–320 mm | 280–450 mm |
According to the manual, the upper arm band should sit above the elbow. You don’t have to pick the same size for wrist band and upper arm band. On 18 Oct 2026 the upper arm band was also listed as shipping “in approx. 3–4 months” in Garmin’s German store.
Price and delivery time in Germany
Garmin’s German store sells all eight variants for €199.99. On 18 Oct 2026, every single one, S–M or L–XL, showed “ships in approx. 3–4 months”. According to Computer Bild, Garmin apparently did not expect the demand.
On billiger.de the Cirqa was listed from €198.99 the same day. That is hardly a discount, but if you don’t want to wait for months, compare delivery times at retailers.
What you get without a subscription
According to Garmin, the Cirqa needs no subscription. Heart rate, Body Battery, stress, Pulse Ox, sleep analysis with Sleep Score, HRV status, skin temperature, training readiness, training status and VO2 max run in the free Garmin Connect app. The optional Garmin Connect+ costs €8.99 per month or €89.99 per year and adds Garmin Coach plans, a nutrition log and AI insights, among other things.
Garmin promises up to 10 days of battery. German reviews measured much less: around 4 days at Computer Bild, around 5 days at PC-WELT. The detailed comparison with the cheaper Fitbit Air is in Garmin Cirqa vs. Fitbit Air. Garmin’s other bands without a subscription are covered in Garmin fitness bands 2026.
Don’t mix it up: the vívosmart 5 has different sizes
Garmin’s fitness tracker with a display, the vívosmart 5, also comes in two sizes, but with different dimensions: S/M for 122 to 188 mm and L for 148 to 215 mm wrist circumference (per Garmin). The Cirqa table only applies to the Cirqa.
Conclusion
With the Garmin Cirqa you only choose the band: S–M for 120 to 200 mm, L–XL for 145 to 240 mm wrist circumference. Module, price and colours are identical. Measure first, as only one band is in the box. In the overlap range both fit per Garmin; as a rule of thumb, below about 176 mm rather S–M, above that rather L–XL. Expect 3 to 4 months of delivery time in Garmin’s store at the moment, whichever size you choose.
